Registered Massage Therapy in South Burnaby

What is massage therapy?

Massage therapy is committed to restoring your health and wellness. This natural and safe healthcare therapy reduces pain caused by injuries, illnesses, and daily stresses by manipulating the soft tissues of your body including joints, ligaments, muscles, connective tissues, and tendons.

How can massage therapy help you?

From alleviating muscle tension to strengthening your immune system, the benefits of massage therapy are endless. A wide range of symptoms and illnesses can be treated with massage therapy including:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Stress
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Pregnancy-related issues
  • Circulatory conditions
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Overall relaxation

What massage treatments do you offer?

Our goal is to help treat your aches and pains through a number of techniques such as:

Myofascial Release:

This form of soft tissue therapy loosens the superficial and deeper layers of fascia (densely woven connective tissue) to improve circulation, restore range of motion, and decrease pain.

Trigger Point Release:

Trigger points are tight spots in your body that can cause pain in other areas. For example, headaches can be caused by the trigger points found in your neck and back. Releasing trigger points can help minimize pain and symptoms.

Deep Tissue Massage:

Described as a deeper technique, this form of massage therapy reaches the tissues beneath the superficial fascia. It’s used to relieve symptoms like chronic pain or stiffness to areas with reduced movement due to injury, trauma, or repetitive motion.

Joint Mobilization:

Joint mobilization is a gentle movement of a restricted joint. It’s used to diminish discomfort and help restore a full range of motion.

Relaxation Massage:

Designed for those who want to destress from daily life. This type of massage helps you relax thanks to smooth gliding strokes.

Pre and Post Natal Massage:

A pregnancy massage stimulates soft tissue to reduce joint swelling and back or leg strain during the second and third trimesters. After the baby’s arrival, a post natal massage can help speed up recovery. Our clinic is also equipped with pregnancy pillows to provide extra support and comfort.

SHIATSU MASSAGE:

Shiatsu, the traditional massage therapy of Japan, stimulates your body’s own healing and recuperative powers to restore internal balance and help achieve optimum health. It uses no oils or lotions and can be performed through light clothing such as a t-shirt and exercise pants, so there is no need to get undressed for treatment.

This treatment is offered by Sandy Woodburn, a Japanese government-certified shiatsu therapist with over 15 years of experience in the field.

I have already recommended them to many friends and colleagues
